As some of you may know, last year my right hand side exhause blew up, causing irrepairable damage.

I have been paitently waiting for another sl can to come on ebay, but i havn't even seen one, let alone try to buy one.

I am fed up of the standard noise. I am looking into new cans, does anyone have any info on Pipe Werx or their hawx range? as shown here.

What i am interested in mainly is quality and the sound they produce! so long as they are oval and black....

Are you trying to get a matching can for your surviving partner, or are you after a set of oval carbon cans? And if so, stubby or 'normal' length?

If you're trying to match up the survivor, post up pics of it and give dimensions.

Don't know anything about Pipe Werx, sorry...

Dalemac, The pipewerx cans have a good reputation, apparently very well made and good customer service. I was looking at their tri oval carbon cans but they were (and still are) a bit pricey for my budget. Don't know about the hawk version, I think they are the cheaper version so don't know if its the materials or the time building them that suffers.

I have the SL carbon cans, and I absolutely love them. They are oval cans, standard length AFAIK and I think I read somewhere that they were made by either arrow or scorpion. Dont quote me on that though...

The right one suddenly blew a gap down the side, then later on the same day, blew off the lower rivets, causing damage to the internal pipe thingy bit. (it sounded even nicer once it had done this!). Whats annoying is that the left exhaust is in reasonably good condition, i would be able to sell it on ebay if I got a new set of exhausts, which would offset the price a little bit.

Ideally I would like to get a matching replacement, being a student with not much £££.

Let me get the camera and measuring tape out and I will post back here this evening.


Phil - Thanks for the info on pipewerx. According to their ebay page, the cans are exactly the same as the other range, but have a more cost effective outlet, hence the prices only being about £40 less than their other ranges.

Mango - Images of the can can be found here. The first image is the left hand side can, the rest are the right hand side, damaged can.

TBH, the left hand can could do with repacking and a new rivet strip too.

Measurements are as follows:

Length (total): 700mm (including link pipe and outlet
Length (silencer): 460mm

Oval Height: 12.2mm (ish)
Oval Width: 9.1mm (ish)

To be honest, there's precious little that's salvageable from the RH can (except perhaps the sticker!)

The reason I asked is that it is possible to get replacement carbon sleeves, but I think the best course of action would be to find a set of s/h cans at the right price and put the undamaged LH one up on eBay...

It's not even a sticker, its painted onto the carbon and then lacquered over :(

I thik i am going to ab to buy new. There seems to be no decent second hand sets on ebay :(

I know you like the black / carbon and its a shame I didn't knoiw a month or two ago but if you are prepared to widen your choices you may end up getting more for your money or indeed spending less ok that sensible bit over

ave fuel minis love em but I didn't choose em but they do carbon look ovals too though I am sure you can get better

The Beowulf ones are the cheapest i have seen for black oval cans. They are a good option.

Will have to evaluate the funds at the end of the week...

Yeah, i was thinking i would probably be able to polish out the vast majority of the scuffs.

Will see how they look when they arrive.

Nooj may be able to help you there I have used my woolies version of a dremmel but costs 10 quid to polish some scratyches out before but now I am more careful and caring than that

The v force look nice cans. Has anyone got a pic of them on a Falco? I see they are only 380mm long. Just wonder if that is too short.
