My falco came with the aprilia pannier racks but no instructions for them. I would like to get them on the bike but can't quite figure out how they fit. It also came wih a ventura rack, but again no instructions. I take it that just fits to one of the pillion peg bolts and the bolts between the undergrad and the number plate hanger?

Pannier frames mount to the grab rail. Take the bolts out and reverse them. Shove the round bit on the pannier frames into the hole that you now have in the grabrails. Other two fixing points are top of the exhaust/peg hanger and by the exhaust mount. I ended up using slightly longer bolts and some thread lock on the bolts where the hanger goes onto the rear subframe. Dunno about the tailpack thing. Here's some pictures.

I am following John"s instructions right this minute and they work ! What I would add is that the only awkward bit is that you need to focus on getting the grab rail bolt started more than the other two or it doesn't thread properly as the other two pull it away so just about get them started enough to hold and it let's you enough flex to pinch up the grab rail otherwise you may spend 45 mins repeatedly trying to tighten a bolt that is out of line.

So far so good big thumbs up squidders now let's see if the bloody things stay on lol forgot the loctite but the bolts I had seem long enough nice man sent them to me with the racks. I of course have overtighrened everything as blurry usual why anyone let's me near tools I'll never know must be an entertainment for someone high up ... You know I'm bored what can we do ? I know let's watch that pollock with no idea play with spammers again ! Lol

Just that one bolt worked loose on mine. I didn't dog it up really tight because I wasn't sure what it was going in to, didn't want to strip anything. Slightly longer bolts and a dab of loctite and it's been fine since.

All fairly straightforward then, but, like Columbo, there's just one more thing...

The bolt from the grabrail that needs to be reversed would have to go through a threaded section inside the seat unit. Do you remove the little metal bracket that joins the seat subframe to the undertray or is there another way of doing it? Does the bolt thread back through the bracket and then on into the pannier mount?

That's what I did just reversed the bolt hopefully nothing like a bracket went missing but that's when you have to not tighten the other 2 too much. If you do it will not line up straight enough for the thread to bite. So just enough on the other two to hold then make sure the grabrail bolt really engages before tightening all 3 in turn. Put some electrical tape on the back of the luggage frame to stop it peeling or scratching and check you have spacers for the hanger bolt if not then like John said washers and a longer bolt

I'm a bit lost here .... but the bolts that are reversed don't go through any threaded section. For fixing the grab rail the bolts are secured by nuts, when turned around for the pannier frames the bolts screw into the threaded boss of the pannier frame itself.

I'll try and get some pics, but on mine there is a little metal frame that the grab rail bolts go into that also bolts to the inside of the undertray. It may have come with the Ventura rack as otherwise that would bolt straight through the plastics. It may not be standard so I'll try to get some pics up.

I agree with D mine just went reversed through the same hole they came out of
