Morning to all,

I have had my falco a few years now and fancied a change, but having discovered this forum, i like many others have decided to go down the Fuono route, i have purchased a top yolk with fat bars and also a tuono fairing, obviously i will need brake and clutch lines, what other items will i need?
You guys mention a tuono subframe, is this due to the fact that this carries all the load of the fairing rather than evenly distributing among all fairing mounts?
Will i need different throttle cables?
Can i keep the air tubes attached or do they need to be removed?
also, does nobody do a tail tidy for the falco?
And i'd also be after some advice on aftermarket cans, this has to be a cost effective conversion as i'm also restoring a KR1S at the moment.

may I suggest that you start off by looking at what folk have done and then seeing what you like?

finally, before andy starts rampaging - please do look around for alternative panels....

another question, some of you guys go on about jacking up the rear, do you use the aprilia shock linkage and dog bones, or just the dog bones?

So many questions i have to ask, this modifying thing will get out of control!!!

I'll be getting road and track forks and rsvr shock and wheels next!!!!

actually before that IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT ALREADY - SORT THE PIECE OF SHITE SIDESTAND OUT - do a search in the forums - various alternatives - but do not touch the bubseywoo ones on evilbay....

back to the rear end

the standard blue spring sachs shock is pretty poor - even as new they were not great being limited in what they could do. there are solutions:

Buy an aftermarket shock - nitron etc - some have done this but you get what you pay for

buy a second hand shock from a mille - http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/show ... p?t=162440 lists what fits, and what parts you need. All of these shocks have the full range of adjustment including ride height
the easiest solution is the original mille white spring shock - that will bolt straight in, though it will need, in most cases, the valve trimming. These are cheap to buy second hand BUT factor in getting it serviced.... about 120 quid iirc. (Advantage to that is you can get it sprung correctly for your weight from the off.
The Ohlins and yellow sachs shocks must also be fitted with the appropriate linkages etc.... these are more spendy

one other thing - have you considered putting the bars over the triple crown? if you want to change the riding position this can make a world of difference....

me thinks i'll have to sit down with a pen and paper and make a list.

I haven't tried the bars over the top of the yolk but i don't think it would be upright enough as the Mrs complains of her back when holding on so decided to go even more upright. hence the bars etc.

was thinking of a mille spec shock from Hagon, ive got 1 on my KR1S and it's good.
Anybody on here tried a Hagon so to speak?

Try the bars over the triple crown and get a set of love handles - randomsquid has some .....


Re the shock, my preferred choice is the white spring Mille shock - less than 200 quid and will satisfy most average riders. If you need more then go for the other options....
Unless you or a friend know what they are doing get a suspension expert to set it up

And feel free to ask questions - and also use the search facility - there is a LOT of information here....

welcome to the forum Rob, I hope you have an endless pot of money, at one stage i was thinking of selling one of my kids to finance what i wanted to do to my falco . My advise is take your time and things will come, has you can run away with a lot of money. I have had mine since january of this year and i have already spent a small fortune. But i dont regret this has the changes have improved my bike in looks and ride. Get rid of your standard shock and try and get a mille ohlins, but dont forget to get the linkages at same time. Sorry flatlander . you will get very good advise from aladinsane and Drider has they are the gods on this forum. Guys you can pay me later .

I think im looking to do the handlebar converstion, as i've bought the yolk and fairing, rumour has it i need a tuono headlight/clock bracket too?
a new rear shock as after 33k, the standard one is past it, and a set of fruity cans.

The above will hopefully done over the winter, again any input would be great, also may get the forks refurb'd too

have a close look at nooj's bike..... think bling tuono parts.... and then how things can be made to fit....
(If i were to bastardise my bike - sorry, fuono it, I would start by stripping off what I wanted to go, then photograph it and play in photoshop....)

and if you like to fettle, then you will fit right in with the falco - a fair few folk have fettled theirs - I really must do some mods to mine some time....

and re the front light - lots of options - especially if you happen to have a spare front fairing and a Hacksaw - if you need advice on Hacksaw selection, chat with nooj

well, ive got a tuono fairing and top yolk with bars coming, just need to get the clock/headlight bracket and hydraulic lines to fit it.

I will then ponder what to do with my rear end probably an early ohlins with all the linkages and some noisy cans, obviously, at least one of the other bikes will have to be sold to finance this.

Yikes i do need a bottomless pit of money.
