Could be, but more often than not it's just down to a lead that is not tightened up enough, most of us have had the problem at some time. Could also be a duff battery.
Make sure the battery is charged OK for starters, then check all the leads, starting with the battery leads themselves, even if they feel OK. Clean them up if they look like they need it and tighten well.
Follow up with solenoid leads and then the starter motor itself.
The Falco's V twin takes some turning over and if any bit is dodgy you will just get the "click".
On one occasion when it happened to me, it had started fine from cold, stopped at a garage and started again, then 20 odd miles further, I stopped to clean my visor and "click" no chance. Thought it couldn't be loose battery leads or it wouldn't have started under load from cold, tried 'em it was.
If the solenoid does prove dodgy their are better and cheaper options than buying a replacement from Aprilia, but more on that if needed.

Good luck.

Single click .... well probably relay has had it - though it could be poor connections between battery and starter motor (including the power connections at the relay or starter motor ground).

Check the connections first as that costs no money - but oxidised relay contacts is my guess.

A longer shot if all those things are OK is starter motor brushes.
