Could someone please confirm if i went down the 'Fireblade' stand option that this is the correct part (3), have also read that the Honda spring is also required?

That looks exactly like the one I have fitted. I used the original Falco nut and bolt, and switch, with the new stand and new spring.

Yes agreed, that's the one. I re-used the aprilia spring though. Was there any reason you used the Honda spring? (just in case i missed something!) :smt017

No particular reason, I just put it on, because it was a new spring, and alot easier to replace.

That's very decent of Honda. Looks like they've done an exact replacement copy of the Aprilia stand, but properly engineered. How very thoughtful of them.

How does the stand look when fitted? (i.e. angle of dangle etc...)

I ordered a Fireblade 2006 stand, Part Number 50530-MEL-000 and fitted it last night, looks the same as the CBR600RR stand in your link, although the part number is different!

I fitted the stand last night using the original spring and found that it took a bit more of a stretch to fit over the Honda retaining peg, also the retaining "groove" on the peg isn't quite wide enough for both springs, I will file this down to get a better fit. I already had a blob of weld (1 - 2mm high) added to the back of the stand to keep it off the exhaust when in the up position.

The stand does reach out a couple of inches or more from the bike but I felt the stand did not reach far enough forward and the bike was too upright. I removed some metal from the mounting bracket stop to improve this, slight improvement.

I am now thinking that maybe either trimming the length of the stand slightly or investigating if fitting the Honda mounting bracket would put a bit more angle on the stand. (Anyone done this?) I still have a bubseywoo stand on order, may wait for this to turn up to compare.

I seem to be adding to the confusion here :smt017

I ordered a 2006 Fireblade stand from a Honda dealer, the part number on the packaging was 50530-MEL-000. I see what you mean the the part numbers don't match. (Don't know how I got your link to show the CBR600RR fiche) I will be quizzing the dealer as soon as I get a minute, will let you know what they say.

Hi Furgeyman

Here are a couple of snaps for comparison.

I will take one of the bubseywoo (ebay)stand whenever it arrives!

Part number search for P/N: 50530-MEL-000 is the 2004-2007 CBR1000RR sidestand

Looks like there are two numbering systems running for some reason!?

This is a fairly easy fix, still feel the bike is too upright, but definately more stable.

By the way the Aprilia spring does fit but it takes a fair old tug to get it over the retaining pegs!

Was working on RSVRuss' bike a few days ago which has a 'blade stand. MUCH better than the stock piece of sillyness.
