Considering buying a Falco

Hi all,
I'm considering buying a Falco. Seen and read lots of articles but not seen one in the flesh.
Is there anyone close to Southampton who would be happy to show me their pride and joy?
Currently have a Versys 650, and BMW 1150rt. Looking for something a bit more sporty but not full on sports.
I'm 47 I.A.M. rider, 6' 13.5 stone, I'm hoping I won't be too tall. I ride/scratch/commute all year round
Very impressed with this forum.
Cheers for any help.
Alan

Oooh - really bad timing
I'm between Southampton and Portsmouth but the bad news is I'm outta here for three weeks going around Europe on baby.
Not returning until the 17th July so if you can wait until then...............
The next nearest Falco I'm aware of is Nooj in Newbury but his is hardly standard

Welcome to ARS, Alan.
Glad you like the place, how soon are you looking to maybe get a Falco? There may be a meet you could get to to see more than one in one place?

I'm down in Cornwall but again not too close to you , it's a great bike and you won't regret it . It does everything you want and more when sorted out which is half the fun about them..........and now you've found this place you have all the advice you'll ever need for them of these lot ...
I'm 6'1" and 14 stone and it's a nice fit for me .......once you lower the front and jack up the back , change the shock ....etc etc etc .......and so it begins !!

Hi Alan
Sorry, I'm not that close to Southampton - but I expect someone's not too far.
You won't be too tall - I'm only about an inch shorter and there are some huge giants that ride them too (closer to 7ft than 6ft)
You are quite a lightweight but there are those on here that are much lighter and much heavier.
I too ride throughout the year and I can still remember when I was 47
Oh - before I forget - Welcome !

and if you do go the falco route, remeber futura's are not ...i repeat NOT donor bikes :p
all kidding aside, they're are awesome bikes the biggest mistake i ever made was selling mine and buying a kwak, fortunately i redeemed myself by getting a futura.
i'm 5'11" byw so not far off you, i cant imagine you'd be too tall for it.

I'd say come up and have a poke round mine, but it's far from standard, so won't really give you an idea of what the stock bikes are like.

Welcome to the site Alan, we all obviously love Falcos on here. I can't remember much about when I was 47, but do remember that I've been riding bikes for 47 years!
Had lots of bikes over all that time, but the Falco is the best and most reliable, (the three before it were all Hondas). Will have had it 7 years in a few weeks, and I will never get rid whilst I can still ride.
Sadly I'm shorter, older and heavier than you, but the Falco suits me perfectly for what I want from a bike, we have some big lads on here, up to about 6'8" and 18 st or so, and some people much shorter and lighter, like Hannah.
The bars are fine for me as they are, but you can drop the yokes slightly and put the clipons over the top without too much trouble, if that suits you better.

Just developed a problem with the Versys exhaust

so need to address that first. Perfect timing
Seen a red one for sale at Keep Biking Ltd in Brackley, will see how things go.
Thanks again
