Cans

#4 Post by GregD-UK » Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:25 pm

Hi all,

Guess you need to consider what finish you want, then size, fitment/position :smt002 Unless it's down to £'s of course. Try the gallery for what the guys are running, then, ask which you prefer....

I have had the Aprilia Carbon Cans on for awhile, lovely growl :smt003 I always dip my clutch and float into my back lane, too keep the neighbours happy on my return. :smt001

Dramatic Update:

As of next week, stubby TwoBrothers Carbon M2 cans mounted shotgun style will be leaving the garage :smt007
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

May have a used pair of Motad Venoms coming up for grabs over the weekend, complete with link pipes.

They sound good and aren't too loud, could be good for you, Blinkey.

My cans are stainless with link pipes. They are stamped BSAU so are road legal, had them pass the last MOT no problems with no db killers fitted. As Nooj states, they are not too loud, and won't annoy the neighbours in the morning.

They won't come with the R&G sliders though. I will get some photos done later today, have to get some bits this morning, and watch my old battalion do the troop.

when i was looking at cans on e bay i came across some mega phone style ones for tuono and mille, and i thought how nice. problem is you cant get them for falco i emailed the company. It was a decision do i buy them and try and make link pipes in stainless, would the mounts fit and look ok on the falco if i got a pair of tuono ones :smt017 i think if they was made for the falco they would look the dogs b****** :smt007 has any one had any expierience with trying to mount tuono cans on the falco,or would you advise me to stay clear :smt017 .

A couple of the guys have mounted Mille systems, do a search for it, and all will be revealled, but this will start you off

actual job is easy to do BUT

you do need a mille swing arm fitted - I am not 100% certain on that with a single can, but if you have dual cans, and one comes under the swing arm, the falco swing arm says no.... if you go for high mounts, and the cross over goes over the swing arm, then i think you should be ok.... but just be aware

leaving that aside, you need to change the oil tank to an rsv one - and either swop the oil cooler to an rsv one or invest in a longer length of oil pipe - D-Rider swopped the oil cooler, I did the plumbing option

a belly pan does need a small visit from Mr Dremel

the rear header is a bitch to work on.... it is not bad but be aware that you are going to need a UJ and small hands....

as listed on the above threads, get the correct mid pipe - ie, one that you can breathe or mod later.... you know it makes sense!
(Me - having seen how much those mid pipes cost on ebay, I would have a chat with redratbike and buy the modded mid pipe and see if he has a set of headers he can throw in as well...)

then choose your end pipe or pipes - you will have a lot more choice you will find

(Switching to mille pipes may have a performance gain as well - I cannot be certain on it but i suspect that there may be a small gain. The modded mid section is known to give 5 to 10 bhp in the mid range....)

now, has sir considered his credit options??

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
