As much as I'd like to sell you some, they will indeed stop the speedo working

may I suggest that you start with that guide - and bleed them
the falco standard brakes are good imho - so good i have not switched to the upgraded ones....
(And i could have done a few weeks ago but could not justify it....)

I disagree, in the grand scheme of braking these days the OE Falco brakes are heading down towards average-to-good performance, so the brake upgrade is worth doing IMO, but... to make a REAL difference you'll need 4-pad calipers, braided lines and billet levers, you'll then have about 95% of the performance of the radial caliper set up on new Aprilias. As it is the OE set up (especially on older bikes) has I'd say about 75% of the radial's performance.
Brakes...

Hi all,
I concur with nooj, got four pad calipers and new hel lines with 5.0 oil in and some shorty levers... What a difference

if you can, you should upgrade

Great shout Rich thankyou. I fitted my OZ wheels last week and damaged one of the disc nuts. Eventually got it removed and replaced it with a SS bolt. Was careful to make sure I used a washer to get the correct free space between bolt and speedo sensor. Took it for a ride and the speedo had a thrombie! very erratic and got worse the faster I went. Realised it could only be my botch so managed to rescue the old nut and all is well. Think I will replace them now using your link.

Sorry you guys but I've got to disagree.
As I posted a couple of weeks ago

Have now fitted:
Front Brakes:
- 4-pad callipers - serviced before being fitted
New Sunstar Discs
Hel braided hoses (70degree banjos at master cylinder, straight banjos at callipers, Right hose: 62cm, Left hose: 67cm)
Brembo racing radial master cylinder (not the normal RSVR radial master)
Renewed brake fluid
Verdict:
Front Brakes:
- Hoses fit but would have been more comfortable if a little longer - right side OK but an extra 1cm would do no harm, left side would be more comfortable 2cm longer. That said they are not tight.
Angle of brake lever is more horizontal than I would like but there is no choice due to the lever/span adjuster contacting the front fairing sub-frame at full lock if tilted further.
Had them on a few days now
Compared to previous standard setup (Brembo 2-pad callipers, freudenberg hoses and standard master cylinder), there might be a small improvement - need more time to assess but it's certainly not a "night and day" difference.
I did note recently when I cleaned up the "buttons" on my discs and cleaned the pistons on the standard callipers etc that I found it hard to see there was much room for further improvement ..... guess I was right.
D-Rider on 6th April wrote:
BTW last weekend I cleaned up my rotor buttons and the callipers and pistons on my standard Falco brakes. That has firmed them up hugely .... didn't even change the brake fluid or bleed them.
I'm even wondering how the 4-pad callipers / radial master cylinder and braided lines is going to improve on that!
I am sure that had I not serviced the standard setup only a couple of weeks before "upgrading" I'd have been bowled-over by the improvement but having the "luxury" to compare with a freshly serviced standard setup, I don't think there is that much of a gap between them.
