Morning all,

Thanks to FalcoMunky, I now have a shiny carbon fibre NWS hugger on the Falco. Damn me, it looks the dog's nuts - matches the SL-Carbon cans nicely.

But are they always such a bastard to get in there? I ended up undoing the LHS footpeg hanger / exhaust bracket so I could rotate the hugger around the wheel and into place.

On the good side, though, the bike got a wash and is lovely and shiny again!

Edit: Forgot to say that TLoML said "You need carbon fibre on the front now to balance the look of the bike." I'm taking that as semi-approval to replace the front mudguard.

Get one ordered now on the net, before she changes her mind!

How well does it fit? I think mine is NWS and the fit is rubbish, it took a lot of time with a Dremel and a drill to get it to sit on right and it's still way too close to the tyre for my liking.

As for the fit, yeah, it's a bit off in places. Unless you look closely, you can't really tell. I couldn't figure out which bolt went where when I put it on, so I carefully enlarged the holes in both the plastic washers and the hugger (where it mounts on the LHS) and used the stock bolts. I just used the stock bolt (and a plastic washer) for the RHS bolt.

The hugger flexes a bit when you press on it, but doesn't seem to hit the tyre or anything when riding.

I also removed the little mudflap thing that used to hang from the bottom of the battery box. Was I supposed to leave that in? I couldn't see the point in having two of them.

Don't worry, a ScottOiler is on the shopping list. Just have to let the bank balance recover a bit (and pay for insurance before the end of the month).

Oh, and a chain & sprockets, too. These ones are rooted. (Lack of care and attention - all my fault. )
