Quiet cans

I've got scorpion cans on which are stamped and pass MOTs, but they are loud and I'm sure they're race cans really. I'd like quieter cans as may use to commute daily. The bike has a PC fitted, so I'm wondering if all replacement cans will actually fuel OK. I could put the standard cans on, but wondering if anyone can recommend something? Cheers G

DB Killers. Cheap and less restrictive alternative than standard cans, shouldnt affect the fuelling, drop straight into your scorpions

While I remember, check and see if you've already got them fitted, if you have, you may simply need the exhausts repacking as the pulses from the big V Twin could have battered the soundproofing to bits. It's normal to have them repacked and 6-10k miles on a big V twin is normal for needing repacking,

Thanks; would these fit into race cans (i.e. cans which never had baffles fitted when new)?

Yep, thats the whole idea of them.

They slide into your open ends of your race cans, secured by a grubscrew, and act as temporary baffling, reducing the noise down a bit to a somewhat more respectable level.

Obviously when you add DB Killers theyre a form of baffling, so they restrict the flow of gases, or at least alter the direction of flow of some of the gases, but this doesnt affect performance or fuelling too much.

Hope that helps :smt001

I've got Beowulf titanium cans on mine, with the legal baffles in, but they are still LOUD, a bit too loud if I'm honest.
I only use the bike for fun, so I live with it as it sounds great.
If I was using if for the daily commute and pissing off the neigbours every morning, I might have to have a rethink like you.
Falcos do seem to be loud on any non standard cans, but they go and sound so much better without standard cans.
Starting is worst, I just back off the hand throttle almost instantly.

I start mine up at 7:30am 5-days a week and have Scorpian cans fitted without baffles. I was a little worried when I first got the bike as it is bloody loud so I bought some baffles for it. I never fitted them as I just got used to it and my neighbours don’t seem bothered either.

Mine has Venom cans on and it sounds like a moped.
If I start it outside the back door it's inaudible in the house with the door shut.

I've been thinking of getting a friend to ride my bike past me, so I can hear what it really sounds like. Constant throttle and under acceleration. Yes, sad. I want to know! :smt009

Used to have Venom cans on mine, my 6 year old would be outside the garage waiting for me when I got home having heard me coming form half a mile away.

I've got Venom's on mine, never had db killers fitted, so it sounds normal to me, doesn't annoy the neighbours even when I do leave for work at 5 in the morning.

If it's in an all girl 6th form college, Yes, I think I would agree with that sentiment. Helluva job.
