I need to remove the rear lenses as a bloody bulb has dropped inside.
I cannot seam to work out whats holding it in place

It is a minor PITA, well iritating, i think i remember taking all the tiny screws out and then prize it open and i think the rubber/sponge bit tore apart too? Think there's some smaller (two or three) screws inside, that screw into the lens, as well as what Pete says

Errrr ..... do people now consider removing 3 screws and the 3 bolts that fix the grab handle a PITA (and you might get away without completely removing the grab rail - I can't remember)

There can't be many simpler jobs to do.



Basically you need to get parts 8 & 9 out of the way

I removed the 3 screws underneath and the grabrail and its still stuck fast,looks like a plastic column at both sides are stopping from moving
THanks for diagram lads,need to upgrade this note pad for bigger screen

Isn't that the grab-rail that we mentioned?

possibly the recess for the grabrail bolts,I at work right now so cant remember.

Well i did it last year and i found it a tricky PITA when you first do it, sorry it's a simple thing for everyone else...i was mearly sharing the comment with a fellow user and showing a bit of sympathy!

Sorry - wasn't trying to you. Sometimes we all get jobs that seem harder than others have found them - don't lose any sleep over it - I'm sure many of the rest of us would struggle more than you with the lighting stuff you did.

As Pete says, then as Andy says!
I've had mine off numerous times and after the grab rail is moved and some of the rear seat unit bolts are removed, side and underneath, you can prise it open a bit and pull the lens unit out without much trouble.

Just done that to two Falcos today. Right feckin arse of a job.

1 Pillion hump off
2 top grab rail screw out
3 pivot grab rail up out of the way
4 Remove all 6 arse-end bodywork screws (under side of the tail piece)
5 Remove 5 self tapping screws in the bottom of the tail-tip/light-housing plastic bit (two are hidden within the arse-end bodywork)
6 Prise the light housing apart carefully and try to wiggle the light assembly off the easily breakable mounting pillars inside the light housing
Then either...
7a Congratulate yourself on a fiddly job well done
7b Buy a new light housing.

Removing all six rear fairing screws isn't essential, it just makes the arse-end easier to maul about while trying to get the light assembly out.

Ah - maybe a bit more to it than I remembered then!
