If I swap the swingarm for one off an 05 RSV, will I be able to use my rear wheel, or do I need to change that as well?

It is possible to fit that shape of swing arm but it is not straight forward.....

I'm aware of the battery relocation, pos/neg cable extension, and the slight adjustment to the undertray, and replacing the RSV spacer on the swingarm pivot for the Falco one, but before I go ahead and purchase one, I just want to make sure that I can use the wheels I have, as I like them:)

Have you got your Öhlins on yet?

Seem to remember that the rear wheel works - best to check with someone who has done it .... someone like Hansie on AFI ...

I'm going to fit the white shock you sent me, and adjust the ride height to start with. From a couple of other posts I have read else where, it doesn't necessitate resiting the battery, and it will quicken the steering a little bit too.

I wouldn't have had all these questions if a certain jobsworth hadn't told me I was moving country:smt013

think you will find the battery housing will need work.....

Just bought a decent arm off ebay. Aladinsane, I think it would probably be better to move the battery, just in case I do hit a big bump, better to be safe than bouncing all over the place.

I know that I will need to use the Falco spacer on the pivot, but will I be able to use the whole pivot assembly, or get an RSV one with the Falco spacer. I know they are listed as different numbers in the parts catalogue.

I will have a look through my wheels list - I have been looking around for some new wheels for my bike and I did make a list of what will and what will not fit... I will get back to you later today

That's the one I have been working off, just trying to clear up some of the blank spots so to speak. Going to have to get some new bearings, as the arm already has them fitted, which should be fun!

Just had a look at the swingarm I bought. It has all the bearings fitted, but am I right in saying that the spacer requires removal of the bearings on one side to fit? That's the impression I get when I look at the service manual. Main reason for asking, is that if this is the case, the previous owner has neglected to fit one.

Right, had a chat with Fastrider, who has steered me in the right direction as to the way ahead, and all is looking good. Have a couple of small bits and pieces to order since it would make sense to do them as parts come off and on. Just need to get some proper time off to get it all ready to go, at which stage I will do a complete photo log. Cheers to all the guys for the info and pointing me in the right direction, now to get the exhaust sorted!
