Indicators

#1 Post by Dalemac » Fri Mar 25, 2011 2:11 pm

Hey Guys,

What would be required if i wanted to install some aftermarket indicators?

Do i need to find a different relay, or change the blink speed somehow?

I have some Motrax arrow indicators fitted and they really update the look of the bike. You will need a 21w flasher/relay to replace the original indicator relay as the original bulbs are only 10w. I bought one from Halfords for about £6.

Gratuitous pic of said indicators (tail tidy is an evolution)

Do indicators have to be orange/amber?

Yes. And they have to flash somewhere between 30 and 60 times a minute and be visible from either end of the bike, and be on either side of the headlight and tail light (no specific distance).

think there is also a minimum distance between them as well - like 30 cm or something??

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I think you may be thinking of the rules in Australia.

A while back, when he was in the process of emigrating, Falcopoops posted up stating the required spacing in Oz and asking for measurement of the UK Falco spacing to see whether they complied.

Some chap called D-Rider measured them for him.
