And don't trust the franchised Aprilia dealer when he says it'll be fine for Falcos.
Yes, I now have clutch slippage and yes, I should have known better and refused any fully synthetic oil, but the dealer was insistent that it'd be OK.
Well, lets see how he is when I insist on my money back......grrrrrr!!!!
Will be visiting 123bp.net to source the correct oil forthwith.

He might have known about it as the 10/40 semi was only recommended by Aprilia as a fix for bikes that are suffering clutch slip.
For those of you with the older models it's probably prudent to use it anyway but for those of us with late model bikes, synth is normally absolutely fine.

Bike is a 2001 model with 20k miles.
Clutch slippage isn't too bad at moment and only above 8k revs. And, if I'm honest, i don't worry the top 3rd of the rev range that often. But best get it sorted.
So what you guys are saying is that I should get some 10/40 semi oil????

I use 15/50 semi MOTUL 5100 and have on all 3 Falcos I have owned.
I bought my 1st falco on the launch date and recommend Motul 5100 highly

Sorry - was late in and misread what you'd written - thought we were talking about the dealer who gave the advice at the beginning of the thread.... yes I know about the AF1 revelation.
