I already had small indicators on the back but this morning I decided to change the front.
All seamed fine but noticed I now get no display on my dash even though they are working.

Resistance issue?
What indicators did you put on - as in load/wattage...

LED indicators?? if so you'll need to do the diode mod to get the repeater working.

There were just normal mini fronts from my local dealer,I will have to to go down and look at the spec again.
The rear ones (mini ages ago ) are very dim now

i think you will find that the drain on the indicators is the problem - the aprilia ones are 10w i think - meaning a load of 21 ish per side..... am willing to bet you have a lot higher drain on the ones you have....
BUT
easy solution - local car shop, buy a replacement flasher unit for the indicators - less than a tenner
simples as keith would say.....

...even more simples - change the bulbs for 10W

and anzac - finding 10w bulbs that fit some of these indicators can be a right pain in the arse!

Prolly shorted something and blew the bulb in the dash.
Go back to the old set up and check the dash display. If it still doesn;t work then I'd reckon it's the bulb. If it works again then I'm stumped.
If you have to change the bulb get yourself a handfull of 12v T5 led's instead and change all the bulbs while you have the dash open. They are a bit more robust, although I've not heard of many O/E bulbs blowing.

Though don't put a LED in there for the indicator repeater - it is configured so that current flows one way when indicating right and the other way when indicating left.

Really wish I could! snapped one of the originals,so I took the connectors off them and soldered them onto the new blinkers and binned the old ones.
Its amazing how you lose confidence in them working without the flasher on the dash

I thought the same as you Andy, but it's not the case, I've done it as have others. IIRC the current only runs one way through the bulb, it's only when there is an excess it leaks into the other circuit. I started to look into it a while back when I was making the changes to LED's and blue dash lights, but figured for the cost of an LED I'd just try it. Been working fine for a long time now.

It is the case Dale.
Here's a link to a thread I started in the Tech Section ages ago (but never finished) looking at Falco Indicators in general and LED ones in particular ..... I really must finish it off.
The basic circuit is taken from the Aprilia wiring diagram and then shown with mods for various LED configs.
It does show how the bulb works. It must allow current to flow both ways - why they didn't do the job properly and have separate repeaters for Left and Right, I'll never understand.
