Engine cases paint colour & Raising bars question!

#1 Post by scottie58 » Sun Feb 27, 2011 7:14 pm

I have nearly finished all the mods I planned for my recently bought pristine 04 Falco - stand, front sprocket, tailtidy and new indicators. I have also raised the bars (lanky git!) - question - has anybody ridden lots of miles after having done this without drilling & tapping the top yoke for 2 longer bolts? I have only ridden a few miles with just the single bolt clamp holding it all in place. Feels solid enough?

I have some slight "powdering / flaking " of engine case paint right next to clutch cover - no idea why as the rest of bike is as new. Anybody know the colour / code and a source to buy some? My collection of rattle tins & touch up sticks does not contain a match.

HEL brake lines next, then new tyres - still has metzelers fitted!
Roll on beter weather.. :smt001

I assume you mean you've put the clip ons over the triple

I did mine over 3 years ago without any issue with them slipping or moving. Hell, most bikes I've seen don't have the clamp bolt to start with so I imagined I wouldn't have any problems and time has proved me right
