lean angle - new stand - bubseywoo

#1 Post by LEEMAN » Mon Feb 21, 2011 9:16 am

As mentioned previously I have the new Bubseywoo stand.
Fitted it yesterday but the lean angle is just as bad as my previous b*stardised version, i.e: 45deg angle, which also means the bike still has to have a piece of wood added as a prop for the stand.
I have realised now that the problem could be with the mounting plate that attaches stand to lower frame.

Does anyone have a spare OE mounting plate? or know where I can get one?

The stand could be ok though does look a little short in my opinion, also I recognise I may need to adjust the height of the recently fitted white shock to accommodate the new stand.

will try and post a pick of the mounting plate and new stand.

Dave

Send it back and get a refund - then chat with will

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

I do remember the occasional stories of the mounting plate getting bent - usually in stories involving enthusiastic gorillas assigned to tie-down duties on a ferry.

Certainly worth checking.

That was me then - finally convinced me to get a US stand and use the US bracket.

Let see the buggers bend that puppy :smt019

Is it not the case that the standard sidestand is only deficient when you change the shock?
To my shame I've had a later yellow spring Mille shock lying in the garage next to a Firestorm stand since last summer, neither of which I've got round to putting on the bike.
I've never had a problem with the original stand - including several ferry trips and can only assume that it's when you fit a later shock with the original stand that the problems start.

Nope - it's rubbish whichever shock (though one or two are happy with it)

Nah, the Irish ferries gorilla bent my original stand with the original shock.

Would take a bit of doing to bend the tilter plate without bending the stand IMO.

I did use another plate with more tilt, but that got damaged on the trip from UK to Oz (started to propogate cracks at the fold).

US stand and plate now gainfully employed. Works well with either original or RSV sachs shock and by the looks of it a tad more ride height on mine will be easily accommodated

Hoping this will work

Should show the angle of the 'tilter plate'

Taken on my moby so not great pic but should be ok for you to determine if the plate is b*ggered.

What ya reckon?
