Just posted my vmcc parade lap
Weekend of 9/10 July
I will be heading over on the Friday
Parade lap has cost me 36 quid - and that also gives me free tickets for two for the week end - last year I paid 20 quid for the pass so I reckon that is worth while :)
On the application form my special request was:
"ride with other falcos...."
Hope to see others there

even if folk don't go for the track choice - and i would still love to see a flock of falcos thundering around the track, i think it is a good meet choice - I really enjoyed it last year

and this is what I sent to folk who expressed an interest:
Earlier this year, Young Hanna and myself went off to mallory park for the 1000 bike festival -
http://www.vmcc.net/1000bikes/index.htm
we arrived on the friday and set up our tents etc and sat back to enjoy the week end
First things first - this was a wonderful rally - lots of very friendly people, lots of bikes and a decent bar with a good set of entertainers... and the beer was a reasonable price as well!
BUT - one thing we saw was a lot of bikes with numbers on them - these were the bikes booked into assorted parade laps - I think the oldest bike was from 1913 and the youngest was a 2009 ducati - and that set me thinking
the cost of each parade session - 15 minutes, was 30 quid - which I felt was reasonable enough. Entry for the week end was 25 quid if booked in advance and camping was 5 quid per pitch.
then I got to really think... what if we put in a pile of falco's - there seemed to be no entrance criteria at all that I could see - basically, if you had paid your cash, you were in....
So - my mad idea was born.... I and Hanna are definitly returning next year - it was an excellent rally after all, but I feel that by advertising it to the falco folk, we could may be get a fair few others involved - and I had this great idea of aiming to get 15 falco's on the track at the same time.....
SO - The logistics. AFAIk the VMCC open up to applications in January - I suspect folk will be able to still book track time until march....
It just happens that one of the ridersite members is the editor of classic mechanics - and he felt he would know someone who would be able to ensure that the motley crue riding falcos would be in the same session....
so - there you go - a mixture of barefaced cheek but with the potential for us to have a really good laugh - and show the world a flock of falco's all in one place..... none of them will be standard but!
I appreciate that the venue - Mallory Park is not ideal for some of us - but, with enough advance warning I hope many of us will be able to sort something out and join in.....
The cost I feel is reasonable - 36 quid plus a fiver for the camping

those of you wanting to do this - get a move on - I was chatting with VMCC this morning (I rang up about servicing D-Rider's knees), and they have told me that they have sold 800 out of 1000 places..... apparently that is a lot faster than last year

Just wondered about this the other day.
Sadly, I'm only off the Saturday - having to work Sunday.
So will many be going for the parade laps on the Saturday - is there a few going or not?
Could be fun :)
Worth going to see King Kenny on the track I reckon.

I believe that we will be able to follow one of the masters on the track - young Keith is booked in for a couple of sessions.....
(keith is no stranger to a race track - I assume he is using the falco and not the beemer....)
