mine is starting to do the dash reset thing more and more

just been out for a few hours and it did it twice

on optimate every night, battery less than 1yr old

any ideas what it might mean - is something not working or going to break or something?

is it just because its extra cold at the mo?

no alarm fitted, only electrical extra is some heated grips

Check your connectors are clean and that your battery connectors are clean and tightened well.

Your optimate - you do remember to turn it off at the mains and turn it on again every time you plug the bike in, don't you?
If you don't do this it doesn't start a new charge cycle and just continues the cycle it was on previously - ie just a tiny trickle charge.
That catches out quite a few.

Failing that, despite being just a year old, suspicion descends on the battery.

(Of course, this time of year life is much harder on batteries - they don't work so well and they are trying to turn over a great lump full of thicker oil)

as andy says, just nip your battery terminals even if they feel tight.

Optimate 1 and 2 both reset if you touch the poles together.. A HUGE no-no for conventional chargers mind..lol..

Not sure about the 3 or 4 though.. :smt001

Cheers for that tip Andy, I'm guilty of just disconnecting and reconnecting my optimate. Never been an issue yet, but I'm converted.

Onr the subject of Polish women, a mate in Ireland used to take me to a Polish bar when I visited and the women were very, very fit indeed. The blokes were ugly to a fault. Poles apart you could say. Da boom tish.
