Urbane intech valve

anyone tried one for their Falco?

Ive not got a Power Commander or chip yet and thinking I might do this instead
what do you lot think?
apparently it does this:
Stabilizes the bike on decel and downshifting.
Increases power and makes bike more responsive.
Reduces emissions.

Sounds interesting but I can imagine a few problems if youve got a Scottoiler fitted that utilises the vacuum..
The unit, supplied as a kit, picks up on the vacuum take offs under the throttle bodies. It is essentially a vacuum control unit and reacts in real time with each cylinder, it decreases the resistance and allows the engine to spin up fmore freely, giving a cleaner burn and more power. It is also an infinitely variable control on pionts of high vacum, such as heavy deceleration and down changing, so the more you ask of it - the more it will work. you can also vary the effect of engine braking to suit your riding style
I like the idea, however Im put off purely on the basis of the bullshit to technology ratio.

and the crap about kneedown on a supermoto in the wet..

Yes I agree - there may be something to it but the "info" seems to have been written by a Snake-oil salesman - which is rather off-putting
There again you could ask Tim Nichols .... he has fitted one to his 190mph superbike.
Alternatively you can hear what he (and others) have to say on this BBC news report.

They say it's to reduce down-stroke pressure and it can be fitted in just 10 mins .... but I'm still trying to figure out what the business-end connects to (the control end obviously connects to a TB vacuum take off).
Apparently the inventor designed it 15 yrs ago.

Hmm.. Still a bit sceptical. Who's got the £200 to be a guinea pig then? I'd like to know more about how it works too.. Surely it's been patented, so may see if a copy is available.

eXcel at the end of January for a shooftie is probably the cheapest option, then get something hacked together in a similar stylee..

yep - sounds like a hill climbing falco would really benefit from this... and as he has probably already snaffled free press passes, then he can go get one for testing purposes....
