I bought the bike with what is supposed to be a quick release seat - only its so fiddly it aint quick release at all. Im always losing the nuts in the body work cavity and swearing loudly at my ineffectual non dexterous fingers.

Seat comes with something like the following: but i think a more bastardised version....

I have no idea how the original seat was fixed to the bike but how do you all attach the seat to bike? and how easy is it to remove?

Originally there were a couple of bolts
I replaced these for cap screws. Much easier sticking an allen key down there than a socket.

+1 I have done the same

Be careful not to cross thread them though, the retaining threads set into the frame rails are made of swiss cheese IMHO

It's nice to still keep learning about your Falco, even after you've had it for 6 1/2 years.
My seat has allen key bolts, and I always thought they came as standard.

My original 2001 Falco had normal hex head 10mm bolts but my new(er) 2004 bike has allen head bolts, maybe the previous owner swapped them over but they look like factory bolts to me

Wierd eh?

I've got these too - they're excellent.
..... but they work much better with a set of these as you don't loose the R-clips so easily.

Strange they used hex-heads.. Bet that's a right ball ache! Allen's do make more sense.. I too thought they were standard fit. Cheers for that little mod F9 :smt003

I have the quick release pins from AF1. Piece of piss to use, but then I made sure they were set to the correct height and fixed in with some bad-ass threadlock.
