So the bike was out of action during the icy spell, however during the period of 2 weeks I thought it might be an idea to start her up and have her running for about 5 mins just to keep her oiled and in good order during the cold weather.
Everything was working before the bad spell and the bike has just had a good full service.
I went to start her up on Friday morning to go to work and unfortunately poor old Ruby just wasnt firing - so I thought maybe the battery was dead.
Over the weekend I took out the battery, tested it and was at full charge, gave it a bit longer on the optimiser just in case any way.
Put the battery back in and the bike still didnt start, the starter motor was working, there was almost an ignition and the bike almost spluttered but not quite and when i tried a second time it had completely given up.
What else could it be?
Any ideas from the exalted ones?

Had the a same problem during the bad weather last winter. I put it down to being parked in a cold garage and the cold damp air not giving the right mixture. The electronics in the FI system may not be at their best during low and sub-zero temperatures either.
However, this was just me surmizing - if anyone has a more scientific reason I would be very happy to hear it

Swore at it
Then came back another day when it was a bit warmer and drier and she fired straight up.
I think you may be right about the sensor. I tried all sorts of things like warming the plugs on a gas stove - by the time I got all four of them in they had gone cold again, tried turning it over with the plugs out to check for a spark - definitely had one beacuse i only bothered to take one plug out of each barrel and had big flames shooting out of the holes from the remaining plug, for some reason i can't remember if I did anything with the sensor or I may have just got pissed off with it by then and gone back indoors muttering to myself about the bloody italians.

bloody right too.. even though the 6T is worth more, not only in monetary value but also sentimental value, I'd rather send that down the road than the Falco. Mostly because I know the 6T will probably just bounce and suffer only minor scuffs, whereas the Falco would probably be deemed un-ridable after only a minor fall..
There are methods to my madness..
