Clutch problems

Rode into work today no problems, but when I went to leave at the end of the day, LOADS of problems.

After warming up the bike, I selected first and the bike stalled as I released the clutch. Thinking that I had school boyed it and let the clutch out tooo quickly, I tried again, and it stalled. Had a look at the clutch reservoir and noticed it was low, and that the plunger on the clutch lever was nearly fully depressed. Off I went to the local dealer and get some hydraulic fluid. I topped up the reservoir and gave the rubber boot a good clean up. Had a good look around the bike, but didn't notice any spillages, although there was some smoke coming off the exhaust where both headers are joined. Could have just been road residue. Started the bike up and worked the lever until I got some pressure back into it.

Off I went home, but now I have had to adjust the lever for maximum travel, and I get the feeling that even with the lever pulled in fully the clutch isn't fully disengaging. Managed to get home without too much drama, just a well toned forearm!

I am thinking the following:

Leak along the system somewhere drawing in air
Seals gone at slave cylinder

Is there a stainless hose kit, and what's the view on upgrading to an Oberon slave cylinder?

Yes, you can get a braided line, HEL, Cobra, Goodridge (make sure you get stainless steel fittings) are just a few.

As for the slave: Oberon, MPL or Evo.

Evo's give the best warranty I think, MPL's need an RSV/Tuono sprocket cover.

Usually the slave seal - though do check rather than just assuming.

Evos need one of those sprocket covers too (or a hole cut in the standard one - it's the oberon that doesn't.

Tuono covers are cheaper but are just the same as Mille ones.

Of course you can replace the seal in the standard one.
