Batteries! Batteries! Get your battery here!

#1 Post by davidm » Mon Oct 18, 2010 7:37 pm

Hi All

Long time lurker first time poster :smt006 . Thought I would let you all know about my bargain battery. Having had my falco fail to start on Saturday I figured it was time for a new battery (already have the Yamaha starter solenoid).

Did a quick search on here and found that the Yuasa YTZ14S was a popular (albeit expensive) choice. After a bit of digging I found that this battery is standard fit on a Honda ST1300. After a quick trip to my local Honda dealer (Shrewsbury) and armed with one of these £20 vouchers http://ww1.honda.co.uk/20poundvoucher/ I walked away with the battery for only £46.31!! (Cheapest I could find elsewhere was £65 on ebay).

Battery now fitted and all is well again :smt020

Hope this helps someone!

Sorry to upset you, but give a call or search for a company called Manbat.
I believe they have branches around the country, but my local one is in Chesterfield.
Only paid £22 for mine, but i'd got a purchase order from work and it's part of our group.

Bugger I checked prices for a YTX14-BS in April 2009 and finally bought one through my small local bike shop, Sid Smiths, who are always good on prices.
I paid £65 :smt022

Then again most places were asking between £70 and £80 at that time.

Good call. Honda was cheaper and only down the road though!
