Here's a question for ya:
Got an Ohlins shock on my falco, took it off my bike yesterday to give it a clean and look at the numbers and noticed that the bushes / eyes at either end of the shock barely move. They rotate with the use of mole grips and a strong hand, but are really stiff as fuck.
So, please excuse this probably daft question, should they move freely, or not at all?

Any help will be greatfull!!

From what I remember they should a little bit.

If I hold the shock I cant twist it slightly from side to side, there should be no up and down movement.

Inside these bushes is a bearing (much like a rose joint type) hidden from view and mounted within the two end caps which are a push fit.

However in the position they are in these bearings are often overlooked. The end caps are a tight fit so it would be difficult to move them, however inside the actual bearing can wear and seize giving movement at the end of the shock. I've just had one replaced on my WP unit fitted to the panzer, once we got it apart the bearing inside was completely knackered, filthy and well past its sell by date.

To be honest though, I couldn't feel any extra movement I just knew it was knackered because the state it was in. Would the extra bit of movement even be noticable???? I don't know.

In my humble opinion unless the end caps look completely shot I'd be tempted to leave it alone. The chances are the bearing inside is in fine condition. Even in the poor state mine was in it would not have collapsed for a long long time.

They work out at about £40 each to replace (well that was the WP price
from Reactive suspension)

Only movement I have is rotational, just INCREDIBLY stiff.
Im going to eventually get the spring changed as mangocrazy did, might get them to give it a service too whilst its off and get my sag etc set up
