OZ look alike ........with a twist !?!?!?

Right long story short lads so here goes , i brought some ....what i thought ......were Aprilia oz wheels of Ebay. They are gold in colour with a new... ish respray done to them . Basically they were sold to me as perfect and 2001 OZ wheels BUT when i got them and went to get my tryes fitted to them you could see the rear wheel had been repaired at some stage and basically they were having trouble balancing it . The amount of weights used in the end looks a little bit on the silly side and i have left them on as i didn't want to remove the paint ....

Like i said long story short i got in touch with paypal and had a big fall out and a little bit of bitch slapping over emails and i got my money back .......so i thought that was it and i'd send them back BUT the guy who sold them to me hasn't been in touch as i said i want the postage money to send them back ( £30)
Asked Paypal and they said i can do with them as i want as it's been so long now and i've had no reply so here i am offering them too you guys if you want them .......

NOW i'm not rich in any way so am not just going to give them away but the front wheel is true and good and from a 2003 model plus rsvr so the wider hub and the back one is an OZ wheel although NOT the light weight one . Like i said there is a buckle of about 2 - 3 inch on the rim it's self but apart from that it looks brand new ....
Not going to sell them one by one so it's the pair or nothing .......

This is the front wheel the rear is the same colour only bigger and has OZ on it .........they both have the balancing weights on them as i didn't want to remove them as i thought i would be sending them back ......

And how much for this wonder offer i hear you cry ..........Well £170 for the wheels and £30 postage ....UK only ..............Some of mates say it doesn't matter but i had brought them being perfect so not keen but they may make a good race set or something .......No photos of the rear as i couldn't be bothered to unpack it again ........you can't see any problem with it untill you fit a tyre ......You guys no better then me if they're any good

Let me know if anyone is keen or should i bin the rear .......

personally, I think any repair on an alloy wheel is dangerous. Bin the rear and good luck off loading the front. Least you got your wonga back, so not all's lost. :smt002

I know what you mean hence the reason for putting it here first just in case anyone wants them .......and the reason they're not on my bike but thought someone may be able to use them ....

Reputable places I've spoken to certainly won't touch the Forged alloy ones - though I think places are often willing to do the cast alloys - depending on the damage and its location.
I'm not a metallurgist so can't comment on the wisdom of it.

Been thinking about it and think i'll ditch the rear wheel and sell the front on ebay , like i said front wheel is good just an OZ copy off a 2003 onwards ........Some of the lads down here reckon the rear would be OK but like everyone else i'm not keen on having a repaired rear wheel on my bike .

Ignore this thread and i'll get the thing on Ebay ........

I suppose you could turn the rear into an OZ garden hose holder... people will happily buy stuff like that!!

(that was serious too! even bikers are sometimes gardeners.. combine the two hobbies, get the patter right n sell it on ebay)

Would make an awesome base for a coffee table. A mate of mine has an old Formula 1 wheel for the same purpose.

Hmm - good idea .... I've got a forged OZ front with a hairline crack that you can't really see ... been wondering what to do with it.
Had thought of making a bike trophy to flog on ebay but a coffee table is a good possibility.

So, Cornish Mafia has one to use, I've got one too ..... keep the ideas coming folks .......

I use an alloy and tyre in the back garden as a base for a garden bench umbrella, although with a nice OZ you'd want it on display more

Cut them in half - use as rockers for rocking chairs.

Use as wheels for an ornamental garden cart - someone will be daft enough to buy it.

Enhance the damage, fit them to a worthless rat-bike, leave somewhere vulnerable & hope a thieving scrote steals it & kills himself.

Just got back from a weekend of hell camping with the kids ...pissed down every day , tent leaking, kids crying .......LIFES GREAT !!! Got up this morning folded tent in half dragged it to the bin left it there , drove for about an hour to cornwall where it was sunshine and heat .....WHY OH WHY do i ever leave gods coutry i never know !!! :smt013

As for the OZ wheel usage i'm liking the ideas for sure , the hose one is especially good at the moment as my garden hose ( sorry my good ladies garden hose :smt003 ) is knackered and laying on the floor outside , i can feel a project coming on i think ....
