Mille Shock

Bloody hell. It's like riding a new bike.
Tbh I changed the tyres at the same time - fitted a set of Diablo Strada's which are brilliant- so all may not be at the altar of the shock, but it hasn't half made a difference to the ride quality.
I don't get bounced out of the seat on a local bounce out of the seat road. It doesn't squat and shimmy as I put the power down coming out of a corner. I have ground clearance. It holds a line. It tips in beautifully - even at low speed. I wish I'd done it straight away.
The original shock was leaking in all honesty so I probably didn't have too much in the way of damping. (Why do they always leak from the side you can't actually see?) But even allowing for that replacing the original with the Mille shock has transformed the bike completely. It even stands differently in the garage.
The Moral? Easy. Spend (much) less than £100 to transform your bike and make you WANT to ride it again.
Next?
Braided lines.

cool :)
I actually have one of the white spring ones in my shed - got it with the bike
previous owner bought it from ebay but didnt fit because it looks really shabby
that said, the currently fitted blue spring one looks pretty shabby as well if you look closely...
would it be worth getting it fitted do you think?

Know the feeling. Couldn't believe it was the same bike after fitting me Ohlins - COMPLETELY transformed baby

what he said ..... and while it's being serviced get the schraeder valve changed for a flush mount one - then there will be no risk of it contacting the rear sub-frame (not all do, apparently, but probably good to get it done anyway if being serviced)

Ah, you'll be wanting a ShockTube then sir, ideal for hiding an untidy shock and will stop it getting any worse as well, very reasonably priced at £27, drop me a PM and I'll get one on order for sir right away

Yeah, I went to Reactive Suspension for my Ohlins refurb and the basic service was £80. I ended up having other goodies done like the spring powder coated and new pre-load collars so I spent a bit more, but when I got it back it looked like a brand new shock. Have a look their website.

Revs Racing is Halesowen.
A year or so back he used to be about £85 plus parts .... but then it depends on what's needed in the way of parts/oil etc - and whether prices have moved in the past year.
Seem to remember mangocrazy had some work done by John (at Revs) recently so he might be able to give a more up-to-date idea of things.

Does that mean removing shock from bike, fettling and refitting? In which case that's a fair price. I'm pretty sure John's price for a revalve job to a 'loose' shock was around £90 + the dreaded...
