Falco sets fastest time of day...

That's right my trusty Falco was the fastest 750-1300cc class machine up Shelsley Walsh hill climb yesterday.

The grunt from the motor and the chassis seem to work well at this hill. It managed to beat off a very handily ridden KTM 950 Supermoto, a TZR/RSV hybrid and a GSX-R1000 among others.

The Falclimber, as I like to call it these days, managed a time of 31.72s - a gnats off the class record.

The bike is road legal, so I'm hoping for great things from the stripped racer I'm building!

The next outing is at Curborough this coming weekend. Come say hi if you're in the midlands.

I was 9 years old the one and only time I went to Shelsley Walsh, was to watch my godfather race a Austin 7 up it, if memory serves he came 2nd.

BTW is it still as muddy?

Oh and Grats wish I could have been there

Congrats Ben. A very good result against what sounds like some seriously stiff opposition! Pity you didnt snatch the class record, but im sure there's plenty of opportunities to return and right that wrong!

If you haven't done it already, put a 15t front sprocket on, it'll pull even quicker then. I'd be very interested in seeing the stripped racer if it's also a Falco, go for that record with it, it sounds like it's achievable for you.

Am running one tooth smaller on the front.

Yep, the new bike is a falco too. Will be using a 520 chain on that one - all part of the weight saving!

Great result Ben. :smt038

Is this good or bad news?
After a great start like that you'll probably be chomping at the bit to get as many hillclimbs in as possible over the next few months!
Success is always something you want to keep repeating.
Hope the bank balance can stand it.

Good luck at Curborough this weekend.
Can't get there this weekend, but may well pop and see you sometime soon if I can fit it in, as will a few others I reckon.
