Just took delivery of a second hand bellypan from fleabay and set about trying to fit it last night(just to see how it looks as it still needs painting). Not got a paddock stand so was fumbling about underneath and for the life of me I could not get the holes in the pan to match up to the holes below the side panels. Didnt want to force it as there are a couple of cracks on the pan already(will sort these before painting) I'm pretty sure its a skidmarx but are the fitting of these really so difficult. I thought with it coming off a Falco all necessary mods would have been done? Any help would be much appreciated.

yep that is the skidmarx one

you have taken the lower cowl off i assume?

to fit it slide it under and around. the two fron bolts, that are on top of the oil cooler is what I fit first

the rear brackets are a fiddle as you have to fit them then adjust.... then tighten

Yes they can be real fiddle.
Two major things to work on.
The problem with the screws that link to the bottom of the middle fairing may need a bit of movement of nut retaining clip at the back of the fairing, think I slid them to re-align slightly as the spacing of the holes on the Skidmarx was very slightly different from the spacing on the silly mini fairing thingy! Think I even elongated the holes in the Skidmarx pan very slightly to get the ultimate fine alignment.
Sounds difficult but solved quite quickly.
The hardest bit for me was the two arms that come with the Skidmarx unit that link to the engine/clutch assembly at either side.
These are a pig because you cannot decide where these arms need to be until the fairing is on and then you cant see the holes or tighten the arms at the engine end.
Once I had everything else set OK I guessed a starting position for these arms, fitted it all up and tried to work out how far the arm needed to move to be in line. Not easy when its behind the belly pan.
Took it all off again and moved the arms to where I thought they needed to be and repeated for a few times until they eventually lined up.
You will get there eventually!
Once you have got the right postion for the arms, loctite them and tighten them up at the engine end. Never take the arms off again, when you take the belly pan off for an oil, change or anything and the belly pan should go straight back on with the arms in the right place.
I also used tap washers between the arm and the belly pan before bolting it up to stop vibrarion crazing around the hole. Think I ended up sticking the rubber washers on the inside of the belly pan eventually.

Indeed it can be a pain, mine took some bending and bowing into place.

Like Aladin... i bolted into the front end first where the old cowl ataches, then attached to the middle fairing (loosening the other bolts on the middle fairing as well so there's a bit of flex), set the backets that came with it as close as i could then pulled and pushed it into shape, not much help but i think we've all had varying degrees of trouble with them so you're in good company you just have to push and pull it about a bit, try it with the stand up and down to check it doesn't catch before you tighten everything up...might need to add a couple of washers if it catches depending on what stand you have

...sorry to waffle on! Don't get much chance to offer advice as a Newbie!

Mine went on nice and easy - no problems at all !
