OK, I know I could go down the LED route, but I am no spark.
So was athinkin, would it be possible to replace the standard 12v indicator bulbs with halogen ones to give a brighter light or am I a complete berk!
answers on a postcard please......

No one seeking knowledge is a berk in my book.
I have thought about the modern superbright LED's though (as fitted to Audi headlamps). No one is making them in a bulb fitments at the moment, you can only source them as individual devices but these bleeders are bright enough to replace the headlamp being on all the time although they are not that good to be a headlamp when it gets dark

Sorry old git wasn't laughing at you but rather your comment on getting your coat ............it's the sort thing i would be asking if i'd even thought of it !!
You could do what i've done and do the full beam mod , so on full beem all the lights come on ....dimp and full beam ......that's bright enough for sure .
There's this link but i've been told it was taken from here ..: - http://www.rsvzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5102
Worth a look ........and it's still working so that's always a bonus !!

One thing you have to look out for with more modern halogen bulbs is that they are usually a different fitting so you cant actually retro fit them in a fitting they are not designed for.
I found outh the hard way with the side lights on my Alfa 156.
A sidelight went so I got the manual out and it said 10 watt bayonet or whatever, (did not mention halogen) so I went to the local garage and bought one that the bloke thought would be Ok, but a lower wattage.
With the Alfa the bulbs are impossible to reach even if you are a 15 year old with double jointed wrist and fingers, so not easy for an old git like me with arthritis in both hands.
You also cannot possibly see where you are working as the sidelights fit in the headlight unit and then down a 3 inch tube.
Anyway I spent an hour and a half trying then worked out it was a different bulb fitting, so bought all the others the garage had, they were only a quid or so each.
A few hours later and still no joy.
Eventually found out this was a special halogen bulb at 7 or 8 quid a time and got one from Halfords.
Checked when I got it home and the bayonets were not straight across at each side at 180 degrees, they were offset to one side slightly.
I assume they do this to stop you fitting these things in a normal light unit.
Was quite an interesting coincidence, as like you, I had been thinking of getting similar halogen bulbs to upgrade my Falco indicators. I have now given up on that idea, unless somebody knows of some bulbs that will fit!

relating to an earlier post was thinking of a couple of mods
1. was thinking o gettin flush LED or the small strips off Ebay and placing them in the fan openings of the middle fairings. just from a safety point of view of having indies viewed from the side when at junctions or mid-overtaking
2. also looking at adding a large clear strip (like Audi ones) and placing them at the bottom of the sceen sandwiched between the screen and plastic cover or under the cover and drill out small holes. someone on AF1 opened up the seal of the main headlight and stuck inside on a Carbanord (or whatever they are called)...looked really effective
...a bling to far??? Maybe!
