I'VE GOT 54'S , I'VE GOT 54'S , I'VE GOT 54'S ............ Went to a local bike met the other day and got chatting with a bloke on a 2000 rsv , he was telling what he'd done to it and how he was selling it .....Anyway long story short he had a set of 54mm THROTTLE BODIES on it which now belong to ME !!!!! He was happy enough for the money and i was happy enough for the price .......under £150 and that's all i'll say ........probably paid more then i should have but hopefully it's going to be worth it ............. :smt003 :smt017

So this weekend is now down to fitting them AND a nice black RSVR swinging arm .............must say sorry to D-rider at this point as i think our bilkes might clash if ever parked together ......will post photos when finished for you to see why !!!!

DID I TELL YOU LOT ...........I'VE GOT 54'S !!!!! :smt005

Nah - they'll not clash ..... I've got 51s !!! :smt004

Actually something that may be of interest to anyone who is thinking of sinking a set of pitshaft sized TBs is what I recently picked up from Ken Zeller of Evoluzione.
He says that although the limiting factor is the head design and on a Falco they give no performance benefit over 54s, the 57mm TBs can give the same level of performance as the 54s when the fuelling is set up correctly.

Given the rarity of 54s and the difficulty of converting 51s to 54s, it may be easier to get hold of 57s and sort out the correct injectors.

TBh although I had my moment of madness looking at the 54s that came up on ebay a while back, I think I'm going to stick with my 51s for the time being - my approach has always been to improve handling rather than power and I'm sticking with that.

Oh, and congrats with your purchase

congrats

the main thing i noticed was just how quick the power comes in - bike has always been swift to pick up, but ohmyfuckinggod over 6000 revs it is like a super charger...

really noticed after riding hanna's bike the difference

and andy - tbh getting the 57mm bodies and injectors may be a solution but - i think it may well screw the fuel consumption unless you pc3 it as well
(I would strogly suggest pc3 with 54 bodies!)

Which, indeed, is why I said:

..... and I do have a PCIII ..... though no immediate plans for a Throttle body mod ....

I think that the only person who may have access to some is nicholas at http://www.123bp.net/

i think he said that his biggest problem was getting the velocity stacks though

(I think he was contemplating getting some made)
