Won't start without airbox?

#1 Post by Martin » Thu Jun 10, 2010 8:53 pm

.
Just popped in my 4 new plugs and thought I'd try to start it without the airbox on but it won't :smt017

The relay's whine as usual when ignition goes on then whine again when you hit start followed by "No start" message followed by "EFI" message (Diagnostic 1 as usual so nothing serious.)

Question is: How does the bike know the airbox isn't on? or is it summat else?

Why do I want to start it without the airbox on - cos I just do!!! - then run it up and down the road "just to see" :smt003 !!!

They will run without the airbox ..... so what've you inadvertently disconnected then?

I'll have to look up what the "no start" message means - I've seen it posted up before somewhere

I've had no start show up before when the tilt sensor has cut in. Make sure it is upright then you will need to switch the ignition off and on again to reset it.

Mmmm, not the answer I was looking for!!!

I've got the tail light wiring disconnected because I'm midway through fitting a tail tidy (or should I say relocating my tail tidy further back) but that shouldn't make any difference.

Must've disconnected summat but I did check before posting.....

Let me have another look....

Low charge maybe? Turns on lively enough so doubt it's that.
