Hi all .....

Took the old girl in for her first service ....4125 miles today ......but when i went to get my log book it's no where to be seen ..........Am waiting for kids to get in from school to make sure they haven't nicked it for colouring in but to be honest i think it's gone ......

My question is do i have to deal with Aprilia to get me a new one ( at least a years waiting there then...... ) or is there another way that only you forum gods know about and maybe you'd like to share ??? I know i can keep all paper work to show history but it's always better to have the log book .....

Off to France on Friday to watch MOTOgp at Le Mans .............my first trip away with the bike and well looking forward to it , fresh oil for the bike and a weekend away on the lash for me .........life is good.....

Any of you lot going ????

We're of to France on Saturday for a week of trying to wear out their roads. Not going anywhere near Le Mans but because of the GP, all peages will be free for bikes (cheapskate that I am but it adds up doing 1000 miles)

I too will be in La Belle France, and intend to watch the action at Le Mans from the bar in the little village where I have a house/moneypit. Unfortunately this visit is for working on the house, but later in the year we're heading down on the Falco for a proper biking holiday. Whereabouts are you headed Anzac?

I'm off to Le Mans as well, traveling down to London tonight, tunnel tomorrow and onto versailles for a night, then off to Le Mans on the friday, my first time away with the falco and I hope to god I bring it back, last time I totaled my kwak and knacked my shoulder, the missus has set me straight tho,"if you come off dont bother coming back". Weather looks to be with us, have a good one

I also don't have a log book - if you could post up a link to that PDF it would be much appreciated!

Am doing Poole - St Malo ferry then camping at track ........going to try and pretend i'm 20 again .........Mate is coming along on his Rsvr ( but he can't help that ) ............

Should be a great weekend weather wise so hopefully some bloody good racing ....... .....Bike fresh back from service so she is ready to go ..........have a tail bag to fit and a small tent and sleeping bag .......money and papers ..

Any tips on the French police and laws ............IE ......do they have a sense of humour ???????

Taking the piss tends to be frowned on by all and any law enforcement agencies, I've found... Although on one occasion I was following what turned out to be a French police car for miles and miles at well over 100mph. It was only when I tried to overtake him that he 'flashed' me from a couple of well-concealed rear-facing lights. After that I followed him at the same speeds for about 50 miles. When he pulled off the road he flashed me again as a reminder...

One thing you should look out for is oncoming traffic flashing you. They will be trying to warn you about a speed trap set up further down the road. There are almost guaranteed to be some of these between the UK ports and Le Mans.

If you do get caught it's an on the spot fine. And yes, they do take credit cards...

God help you if you havent got a means of payment though.. I believe they can seize your vehicle, as they can and do in the Netherlands.

Make sure you carry your vehicle registration docs and both parts of your driving licence, they can fine you for the vehicle docs not being present, not sure about the licence though

Hi, I have a spare logbook from my crashed Falco. Last service was at 4326m but I could rip out those pages and my details on last page if anyone wants it!

Le Havre to Chartres to our life long friends near Chateauroux to the Isle de Oleron for the sea food, back up to Saumur to visit our life long French friends and then home via Le Havre

Been a long cold winter but only 3 days to go

Bugger - put it down to old age but I haven't a PDF copy. Full workshop manual yes but owners manual - no

Owners manuals are all on the official Aprilia site and the Falco one is also on Martin Poll's site ..... but I think he's actually after the service record book - and I don't ever remember seeing one of them in electronic form.
