Did some work on the Falco today

Between the hail storms I managed to do a couple of jobs to the Falco today.

I renewed my front sprocket. When I changed the chain and rear sprocket recently I didn't have a new front sprocket - so I resolved that one.

The other job was to swap the rear shock. Had a right fight on my hands getting one of the bolts out .... penetrating oil, heat gun and a big hammer beat it into submission ... and when it came out it wasn't corroded ?????

Anyway, out came the Ohlins and in went one of those sought-after blue-spring Sachs jobs.
This is what people recommend isn't it :smt017

Just don't throw that Ohlins in a bin near Pete, maybe he thinks you owe him one.

LOL ... the Ohlins is certainly not going in the bin!

With the Sachs in there, I rode the bike down the drive to turn it round to put it away in the garage and it felt weird ... back end down a long way and so soggy. Went down the kerb onto the road (the drop kerbs are a bit steep here) and I thought "what on earth" !!

That's just from turning the thing round ..... I'd forgotten just how awful the Sachs actually is.
The Ohlins will be going back in ASAP. Those who attended Griff's suspension teach-in last autumn may remember I couldn't shift the rings to adjust the pre-load. Just pulled it out to free it up.

Not a "politicaly correct" solution. No wonder you are hidding it in a tube. But maybe you are balancing that with all the Black is fastest stuff?
