Does anyone know what the difference is between the handlebars AP8118457 used for y reg bikes and AP8118603 used on 01-03 bikes? Is there a hieght difference?

Yep - the difference is 146.

Seems as though here is another little known detail difference we can investigate the next time we get an old one and a new one together.
These things can be as simple as a slightly different colour of paint.

It wouldn't surprise me if the old ones weren't obsolete anyway and only used the new ones.

There's a huge price difference between them, the older ones are about £40 cheaper, but I haven't spoken to anyone so they may be obsolete.
