Was wondering how many rings most of you guys have showing on the forks ............at the moment i have three showing but am thinking of dropping to four just to see what it feels like ......... Have come up on the back by about 12 - 15 mm so trying to sort out front now ... Will it be able to handle OK with four rings showing or is it too much for the old bird .......

Any help as always will be taken onboard ...................then ignored and i will f##k up my own way !!!!!

really depends on you - but try it and see

I would do a couple of hundred miles with the raised rear end to see if that suits you as well

i was happy at three rings showing and it suits me - and my doddery back with my bars over the triple crown :)

4 easily - but it depends on what feel you're after and also what your rear ride height is like (assuming you have a ride-height adjustable shock).

I have max rear ride height and I'm on the 4th ring of the forks. Were I to lower the back a bit, I'd also move the front to the 5th or 6th ring.

Change a little at a time and see how it feels.

..but record your changes as you make them..

Have had the back raised for a while now ( Ohlins but not on max yet for ride height ......i think ) and it's better but i think dropping one more on the front maybe the answer ........

Mine is as it came and handles well enough for now. May make some changes when I finally get round to swapping out the rear shock though, but might limit it to raising the rear a bit. She's a bit flighty over white lines/cats eyes already and I do not want to end up needing a steering damper.

I've also got OZ wheels that quicken up the steering too.

Personally I've never felt the need for a steering damper - but I know that opinions differ on that one.

5 rings and Ohlins on max ride height works pretty good. I'm going to try out the Oz with Dunlop 208 RR Qualifiers (190 rear) tomorrow....

5 rings and the Ohlins cranked up to maximum but I do have a steering damper. Call me a wuss but in the Alps a couple of years ago the bars trembled gassing out of a hairpin. Not a full blown tank slapper but enough to bugger my confidence

Oh - the other thing that may have quite an effect on turn-in and stability is the tyres you are running - I guess what I'm saying is there are a number of things in the mix to get the feeling you want.

Don't think i'll be trying five rings just yet ........will be dropping to four either today or tomorrow to give that a go and see what i think ........have just put on a set of Dunlops ( D208 GP .......brought from ebay new for £140 pair !!! ) and have to say i'm liking them loads ............especially at that price !!!!

If the four rings goes OK and i'm still wanting more i may raise the rear again to MAX ..........

One more thing , i've been looking into maybe getting a belly pan for the bike but can't seem to find out who sells them ............was looking through the gallery and came across a Black and Bronze ( the best colour .........as i have one !! ) and that had a carbon belly pan on it and it look pretty good ....

And although i've seen the link on how to do it how do people post their photos on here without adding a link to go to .........IE so when you open the forum page you see the photo right away .......

Apparently skidmarx do one that according to some people is an ok fit (some holes need moving a bit), I looked on their website and it's not listed, but people have said they have them so a phone call may sort it out.

Yes Skidmarx do one,
Yes it IS still listed,
Yes it fits,
Yes it may need a bit of dremel work if you fit a non-standard sidestand (or mille oiltank and oilcooler)

There is also a carbon one based on the skidmarx one - Nooj got some company to make it but I don't think they sold many.

OH YES .........Four rings it is for the time being anyway !!!!! Took her out for a blast today and it feels a lot better , drops into the corners better for sure and dare i say almost holds a better line as well when doing my round about surfing...........
Didn't change the rear height but may have a play with that a bit later just to see what that will do ....

SO .....now for my next question .......has anyone every thought about doing a single sided swingarm mod from a Futura to a Falco and if they have are there any photos anywhere to have a look at it ..........been trying to read up on it but have only found it done to RSV's at the moment and have to say i'm a bit 50 / 50 as to whether it's worth it ......

Too much time on my hands that's the problem ............
