Shame he had to sell - but good that you've found a nice Falco and it remains on the forum :smt004

Enjoy :smt003

That bike looks great. I really feel for Paul, having to sell it.

I hope he sorts out the car soon and gets another one, I do feel bad......... but not that bad as I have a new bike :smt003 Plus, as I knew the circumstances behind it, I gave him what he was asking and didn't haggle, so hopefully he doesn't feel too bad (a big pile of cash in his hand tomorrow morning should southe him).

If any of you are up the Ace on Sunday for Kawasaki day I may be up there on it, I'm supposed to be taking the Zephyr project bike to show it off to some folk, but I've been looking for a way to take this one, and now my mate has mullered his back tyre, the only decent thing to do was let him ride the Zeph up there and I take the Falco :smt023

I got it, man do these things pull like a train!!

It's going to take some getting used to having only ridden an inline 4, I let 2 of my mates have a go (one with a peaky ninja 636, and one with a 955 daytona), both of whom came back grinning.

I have a few mods in mind that I'll be doing

Dropping the heli bars down a bit as I think they're too high.
Removing that ugly ugly number plate/indicator housing and replacing with a homemade tail tidy, probably change the indicators while I'm at it.

These will be my first jobs as they're free, and I'm now skint :smt009

Also changing that god awful side stand, it scares the bejesus out of my everytime I park the bike up. If anyone has a US spec sidestand they'd like to sell, give me a pm.

The back end feels rather underdamped too, but I'll probably have a play with the suspension next weekend to see if I can get it all set up for my weight, if I can't I may decide to upgrade, does anyone have any experience of nitron shocks and the gold RSV shocks (I think they're the 2001-2003 ones), if I upgrade I'll probably go for one of these two options, wondering if anyone has experience of both and can give me a direct comparison (I know how much you all love to fiddle with them)

Spent the last hour at work deciding what the tail tidy is going to look like, the sizes are only estimates, I'll measure and figure out the particulars later.

What do you reckon?

Get a VTR sidestand off fleabay (or another auction site) and fit that. Works a treat with only a tiny mod needed for the switch - which will take seconds to do with a HSS drill bit and a little care.

The bike is so much more secure I can't begin to quantify it properly. Needless to say I now park her up with relative impunity and have the utmost confidence that she'll still be stood waiting for me when I get back.

The only issue is that the kick bar is almost directly underneath your gear lever, but can still be used properly with a little care.
