First ride out summary

Alad suggested I write up about my first ride out so here goes...

The plan was I was to ride my SV with Alad on his Falco, go for a ride about then jump on the Falco and go for a gentle amble, oh I was wrong, he had other ideas. Jump straight on the Falco….

I was petrified to be honest, the Falco weighs more than the Sv, its got a higher seat and a bigger engine so I was cacking myself plus it was a lot noisier but in a lush way. I was scared as I’m only 8stone at a push so really was concerned about could I handle the weight of it. After saddling up I was amazed at how I could reach the handlebars so easily, for some strange reason I thought it would be far more difficult compared to the SV…WRONG.
Slipped into first gear and off we went not before stopping to adjust the mirrors so I could er see behind me, Alad had them positioned so he could do his make up I guess??
After a hesitant start and getting used to where the pegs were off we went then doh stop at a junction and someone had installed crash bungs, can’t think why lmao as I couldn’t quite figure out where to then plant my feet (behind or in front but soon got the hang of what was comfy). The power felt fantastic, it just pulled away so smoothly and was so planted on the road compared to what I was used to, I used to hate white lines but didn’t even feel them :smt001

Getting used to the gears was very odd for me as my SV is so sensitive and a tiny motion is all that’s needed whereas on the Falco I found I had to be a lot more definite. We stopped off to get petrol and finding neutral was a challenge in itself but apparently this is soon not going to be such an issue with er I can’t remember what it’s called….and then starting up again….and then starting up again, doh you have to press some button on the key otherwise dam thing doesn’t start (malteaser coming out there I think).

On the way back we went the back way and it just slipped through the corners so smoothly and without effort, the weight just wasn’t an issue, even though the Falco is heavier than my SV, bizarrely the Falco seemed lighter and easier to handle.

It was the most amazing experience ever and loved every second of it :smt003 I just can’t wait to ride my Falco again, definitely the best bike I have ever ridden and so comfortable.

SV650 for sale…..

Good on yer sheila. Damn I've been here 2 years and that's the 1st time I've had occasion to say that, mind you no one here actually says that. :smt017

Anyhoo I feel your excitement and glad you like.

Reminds me of a girl I used to work with, who got hugely excited when she got to sit on a 916 at a show when they were just out. she was telling me all about it "....and I got to sit on the seat..." my unconsidered response was "did you stick". Got a slap for that one :smt005

I let a lovely young lady sit on my Falco once outside Asda. I was just about to get on and she walked over and said that she really liked my bike. So she chatted for a bit about how she'd love a bike etc and I invited her to have a wee sit on it. I was very careful to make sure it wasn't gonna fall over. However we chatted for a bit more and when she got off there was rather distinctive damp patch in the shape of a small triangle on the seat. :smt003

Oh how she blushed when I suggested that she must have really liked my bike.

However I got her number and went a picked her up a couple of times and the rest as they say is history. :smt080 :smt110 :smt033 :smt007

And I don't believe she ever did tell her boyfriend.
