My Falco goes straight onto the optimate after a ride, but I have noticed that lately she fires up first time but the dash acts as if the batt has been flat and everything needs reseting.
You can get them on ebay for as little as £30

Does it reset when you turn the key, or when you hit the starter? If the former, I'd be looking for a fuse (I think someone has had this before), if on the starter I would say the battery is on it's way out, Optimate or not

Yes its when I hit the starter button I get seconds stutter and then she fires, the dash cuts out with that moments stutter.
Also once I get home and replug into the optimate the level is indicating very low.
I guess a new Battery on the way.

Optimate's are bloody good bit's of kit (have two meself) but once a battery is past it's usable like, there's nothing that will bring it back from the dead. Get it changed out as it'll be putting quite a lot of strain on the charging circuit or ye bike.

The first page or two of this thread has a bit of a battery theme:

This happened to my RSV just before the solenoid went. If it does turn out to be the solenoid order the Kawasaki ZX9 one as it is the same but much cheaper than Aprilias version.
Cheers Phil

Well thank you kind sir. Must admit to not clocking on that often compared to AF1 - only so much time and the sun's shining
