Paddock stand bobbins... size?

I'm looking at getting new bobbins for the rear paddock stand on my falco... I want to get aluminum looking ones and not red colour coded to the bike :smt005

What size do I need? I've seen information saying 10mm bolts, and others stating 6mm.

I would also like to get a paddock stand for the front... I had a quick look in the manual and apparently there are holes on the bottom of the forks... any suggestions on paddock stands?

Cheers.

Ah .... I wonder if you are aware that your bike already carries some bobbins?

Look underneath the rear seat area and you'll find one on either side masquerading as bungee fixings.

They are a clever bit of dual-purpose design - just unscrew them and fit them to your swinger when you want to use them.

... or if you want some others to fit permanently, then look at them to get the correct size.

I'm 99% sure that the bobbin bolts are M6, as I seem to remember fretting that they were a bit undersize (even though they work fine). Mr Aprilia actually does provide paddock stand bobbins with the bike, except they are cunningly disguised as bungee points on the subframe...

For a front paddock stand I bit the bullet and bought a horrifically/reassuringly (delete as appropriate) expensive under-yoke front paddock stand from Harris. It's beautifully made out of stainless steel and allows one to remove the forks as well as the wheel. It costs £118.30 + VAT (eek!), but it's lovely. Harris's stands are here:

I bought aluminium M6 bobbins off ebay and they were perfect for the bike and my Motrax paddock stand. Unfortunately, I can't give you the link because the seller's website is no longer active. I think they may have been Motrax but I'm not 100% sure. I too was surprised by the size, expecting them to be M8 at least.
