Hmmm. Went to awake my bike from its winter slumber today. It appears my trickle charger has died a death sometime in the last couple of months, hence bike had a totally flat battery, doh.

Still, no matter I'll jump it from the car. So, I went to jump it and I have the following problem.

When hooking up the battery to my car the alarm came on as expected - so deactivated with the plipper. All good so far.

Turn on ignition - all dash lights come on as expected - all good so far.

Thumb starter - nothing. Check kill switch and gear lever - in neutral (dash also says so) so no problems there.

Then the alarm auto alarms despite the key being in the ignition and in position 1 with dash on etc.

Also, when the alarm is 'armed' I can turn on the ignition and the alarm doesn't activate - not normal behaviour.

It seems somehow the alarm doesn't realise the ignition is on and is somehow remaining immobilised... possibly?

Anyone got any ideas?

Not saying I can help but maybe we can get somewhere if we know what alarm you've got on there.

Guess you have though - this wouldn't be the first time we've come across starting problems with Datatool.

i have a datatool alarm . once it fell down i pressed the 2 buttons to gether listen to tone then the right listens for tone press right listen for tone and turn off ignition and start again this should bring it out of sleep mode

Can you run that by me again Joe

I think joe's suggesting:

• * Press both buttons together
  * Alarm will beep
  * Once it has beeped: Press the right button
  * Alarm will beep
  * Once it has beeped: Press the right button again
  * Alarm will beep
  * Turn off ignition
  * Turn on ignition and (hopefully) it will all start up normally

if it is the same alarm that hanna has - and your indicators are flashing constantly, then...

use the plipper, put keys in and turn ignition on

within 5 seconds hold plipper down for 3 seconds - it should cirp

then try it

if that does not work let us know - may be able to let you have a phone number of a chap... and a few web addresses to identify the alarm....

oh - and jadaris alarm fob has only one central button - i am hoping that as both bikes are on the same batch then.....

if so, then i think you will find the alam is a 375t

Pete, you donkey, the 375-T is a Meta alarm ...... Hornetrider has a Datatool System 3 .......

The batch of bikes has nothing to do with it ether .... alarms are not standard fitment.

I'm following the instructions to despike.

1. Remove lid from main alarm unit. - Check
2. Remove internal battery link from PCB (arrowed) - Check
3. Remove alarm inline fuse - Check
4. Unplug PCB from alarm loom - You're having a f***ing laugh Mr Datatool

Trying to completely unplug the loom when some nugget has poured in some liquid rubber gunk to hold all the wires place is an impossibility! Also the wires are too short so everything is too bloody tight, argh!

So, I've managed to remove 3 of the plugs and hope that will do the job. Have to leave it for 6 hours now.
