hey hornetrider and others

just been going of the oasis green bike, and the switchgear is different to mine - still has an off selection for the lights but the rest of the buttons are different - was this normal on the later models?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Yes .... thought this was common knowledge. Not 100% sure when it changed over but certainly the Flamingo red, Olympic Bronze and Oasis Green ones use the newer switches.

If you remember the headlight wire mod I posted up in the technical section, there are descriptions of that for both types of switchgear.

.... and the very last ones (later than mine) didn't have a switch to turn the lights on as they were permanently on.

is why i asked andy - i thought the oasis green ones were the last of all - and this one definitely has an on/off switch....

No - the Oasis Green ones are some of the earlier ones of the last colours produced - hence them being show bikes.
The Oasis Green, Flamingo Red and Olympic Bronze were all 2003 model colours and the Flamingos and Bronze ones were still made into 2004. Obviously some were still sold later than this and carry registration plates accordingly.

that's my understanding anyway :smt001
