hi i'm sure this subjec has been covered but i can get a 07 rsv swingarm shock and linkage for reasonable money, the shock is a yellow spring sachs adjustable unit apparently, question is, will it slot straight in?

It has been done but it's not so straightforward.
One of the bigger hurdles is the limited clearance between the top of the swingarm and the battery box beneath the seat. Solutions have been to cut the battery box off and relocate the battery to the seat hump.
I've got some info somewhere on how to do the mod - if you are keen or crazy enough to do it, I'll find the info for you.
Some of the people that have done this are Pierre from this forum and Hansie from the AF1 forum. There are others too but these were the first names that came to mind.

no dont go out of your way, reason i was asking, i done a track day realized the shock really is scrap, phoned a breakers, who has a 07 mille sitting, offered the swingarm shock and linkage for 300, thought that was a good deal, in two minds what to do.

Unless you want a lot of hassle then wait for kit from one of the earlier Mille's (pre 04) to come up. Tuono up to 05 is the same btw.
You can fit the shock and linkage (though the earliest Milles hasd the same linkage as the Falco) or throw in the swingarm too for a bit of bling.

If your into "bling" I have a 04-09 mirror polished swinging arm that I'd be willing to sell. No linkages though, just the arm itself with all the bearings fitted
It is
very shiney though

Yep - a straight swap and the 04 Tuono shock & linkage will combine well.

yes
straight fit
do the bearings while you are at it
the rear brake line will fit - or get a braided one for a tuono or mille
