Hi all.
Does a bigger battery fit in the Falco?
I changed the old RSV's YTX12 for a YTX14, which was a bit taller but fitted OK. Can I do the same on the Falco?
Mine is dicking about a bit at the mo and stalled off the traffic lights this morning, resulting in a reset of the clocks - and then was giving a good thrashing as punishment!

I've fitted this one around 6 months ago, fits ok and works perfect.

Thanks, that confirms what I wanted to know.
Ouch £70 odd for a battery! Whoah! I trust it turns over like a dream and without needing plugging in all the time?

YTZ 14S is slightly shorter 110 mm high instead of 145 mm. It also has a higher CCA rating, 230 instead of 200. Much easier starting, especially in cold weather. But you're still likely to need an Optimate etc. if the bike's lefts standing for days on end in the winter.

Other suppliers are asking twice this chap's price; I got one recently from him, and it's fine.

It's not cheap, but after the bike refused to turn over at a tesco car park it was a quick decision. Combined with a yamaha relay, bike jumps into life instantly.
The later one looks good as well.

Back in june this year I bought a Varta YTX14BS from RSVR.net for £44.99 + VAT, which has been great so far.
RSVR made the mistake of leaving their suppliers invoice for the sum of £29.90 + VAT in the packaging, it might be of help to anyone looking to buy.
Suppliers details:
Hemingway Spares Ltd
33 Waddon Rd
Croydon
CR0 4LH

Nice one there wavey .... and as RSVR.net are no longer, you're not doing them out of any business.

Cheers for the input people. I will look into this once Postman pat has gone back to work next week.
Where does the starter relay go, I think that might help too as the starter motor does sometimes struggle when the bike is hot, so a combination of a new battery and beefier relay will definitely help.
Is this the relay I want to use - there are hundreds of yam ones on ebay?!

The relay goes on the RHS of the bike, under the rear fairing.
You can get a yamaha relay for ~£30 or a cheaper one form ebay from Scooter Assassins.

Which is one reason that I didn't post in june, the other reason being, ahem, I forgot
It looks like Hemingway Spares are wholesale only, but it wont hurt to give 'em a call. Most of my suppliers say they are wholesale only, but I know for a fact that some of them sell to the public if they ask nice.

Cheers, what's the rating of the yam one - I also found this.
