Brake/Clutch Fluid..

Hi all,
Sick of my clutch fluis looking black and horrible
Do we put in Dot 4.0 or 5.0 or 5.1 on these beasties

i used dot 5.1 synt for both clutch and brakes. but it still went black a week later.

Just as Ian says, mine also did exactly the same, ("they all do it"), but it makes no difference at all to performance.

Changed mine recently - back to black in a fortnight.
DOT 4 is fine
DOT 5.1 is compatible
Just don't even think of going near it with DOT 5 - it's not compatible - entirely different chemistry and I seem to remember I heard that it can damage your seals.
