You wait for months for an 01-03 linkage and then 4 turn up all at once

I bid and won the first pair on a best offer basis (£40) then the next day three more bloody appeared. Anyway that's my job for the weekend I think. Then the set-up experiments will start.

May bid on the others and stockpile the buggers - then release them into the market at vastly inflated prices

Fitted the shock today - took my time and it still only took about 60 mins. Short road test this afternoon and first impressions are good. . I checked the static and loaded sag and it was within the tolerances recommended by ohlins. Set the rebound 18 clicks and compression 12 clicks from "hard", I figured this was a fairly neutral start point.

Been for a quick blast round some familiar bends, rough and smooth, and
the difference is noticeable immediately. There is no "squating" as you get on the throttle and it holds the lines round fast and slow bends much better (i didn't think it was bad before !!) It doesn't fall into slow corners either.

So all in all I'm very pleased. Still time to tinker and tweak a little more.

PS - My bike has had three main dealer services and when I took the blue shock off it was obvious the linkage had not been lubed. ...., ever! It's worth having a look next time you take your shock off.... and be careful not to dislodge and loose any of the tiny roller pins from the dogbone. On mine the rollers on one side were dry and the spacer was already corroded on the surface. My bike has only done 9000 mostly dry miles.
