Falco Feel Good Factor.

Not been out on the Falco for a couple of weeks, mainly down to crap weather, busy at work and giving the old CBR1000 a run out or two before I sell it. Wasn't feeling too good on Friday and needed a pick me up. It stopped raining on Saturday for a while, so got the Falco out and off I went. Had a decent run out and soon had the smile back on my face again.
Coming back up the the A616 from Newark to Ollerton, on the long fast section towards Kneesall village. Had just caught up and passed a long line of cars and came up behind a Range Rover Sport on a private plate at the front. Came up behind him just before a cross roads with a lesser road, so pulled in behind him, could see him watching me in his mirrors, wondering is he about to have a play, I know that things quick for a flash Farmyard tractor but .................
At the other side of the junction he pulled over to the inside and wound the drivers window. The road is wide and open and I was pulling about 3.5k revs in 4th, the bloke in his forties glanced over and give me a smile, he'd obviously heard me passing the cars behing wanted to have a listen, so couldn't disappoint could I?
I have this little trick I love to play on the Falco, you all must have tried it sometime. In stead of the usual bike accelleration pattern, you know IL4 Waaaah....WaaaaaaH......Waaaaaaaah.
You just open it up and stick with 4th, it chugs a bit like an angry Harley for a second or so, then it starts to growl, then you know the rest as it barks all the way to 10.5 k and *** mph, without a gear change, always gives me a bloody great smile, how many bikes will pull so well between 3.5K and 10.5k revs, actually the old CBR thou gets close, (and a Gixxer thou would beat it), but it doesn't sound anything like so good doing it or feel the same, hope the bloke in the Range Rover enjoyed it!
In a few days, I'll have had it for 5 years, but still love that bloody bike.
P.S. Feeling much better now!
