Gabro Chip on it's way!!!

#1 Post by Olig7475 » Thu Jun 25, 2009 8:45 pm

I've parted with €75 for one of Gabro's Falco chips, I had a search round the various threads and it seemed that this was the most recommended. I've got a K&N air filter and Beowulf cans so I'm hoping for some improvement in the performance, anyone got experience of these chips?

Just out of interest, what's the most HP people have managed to squeeze out of their birds? and how was this achieved?

Cheers
Oli

i believe the best achieved is around 130 bhp

i expect to have around 125 ish with 54mm throttle bodies, pc3 and full renegade cans and air filter

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Hi all,

I have 110bhp at the back wheel :smt110 with a race air filter, pc III, and the Carbon SL Race cans... I have yet to fit the dedicated SL can chip. Trying to find a decent dyno guy who will tinker with it and my bike :smt017
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

I'm curious as to why you would need to change the chip of you have a PC3. I thought the PC3 took over the chips job so it becomes pretty much redundant. :smt017 donno much about them tho, hence the question.

A few of the chips (such as the FP1314 and, I think, the Gabro) offer some ignition advance. It is perceived that this together with a PCIII gives the ultimate something or other.

My BLACK Falco came with a dyno print out showing 119 very nearly 120BHP at the rear wheel. As well as the colour, it has the Aprillia RC cans, chip and Evo air filter and box.
Now it is run in with loads of TLC I expect a little more....... :smt002

I wondered that when I first read it so I used this:

to find this:

I'm too lazy.

'Fully adjustable?' Does it activate the trim ports? What about ignition advance (I think it's got it)? How do you actually adjust it (plug something to the bike or plug the chip somewhere)?

Ok so I've my first ride with the Gabro chip fitted, bearing in mind I aint no expert, but it has made a BIG BIG difference with the power delivery, it's so much smoooooother and much easier to ride at low speed now :smt001 :smt001 . I can't say I felt much of an increase in overall power, but then our birds hardly struggle in getting to three figures with the stock chip, but it does now roar through the rev range beautifully smoothly.

I was going to get a PCIII fitted, but I might just leave it now, the Gabro chip really has settled the bike with my cans on it.

I'm very tempted to get one on the strength of that. I'm not arsed about gaining any top end power but if it smooths things out at low to mid revs it sounds worth it.

Did you need to do anything else other than fit the chip?
