Think I need rearsets, any ideas?

Hi, Went for a blat tonight and on some of my favourite bendy bits was struggling to move the bike around quickly enough. I just don't seem able to put weight through the pegs to flick the bike through a set of bends. Feels like the pegs need to go back an inch or so, and poss down 1/2 inch? I have long legs and in particular a rather long knee to ankle. It's caused probs on my other bikes, and I have usually found jack up plates turned upside down have done the trick.
Anyone got any ideas or know someone who can make some plates?

Sorry, me no comprendi

Not sure quite what you are trying to do but can't achieve.

The point at which you deliver your personal mass to the bike will have nothing to do with it (though your relative centre of mass to that of the bike - and hence the combined centre of mass will - as will dynamic input like counter steering)

I'm guessing though that if it won't flick it's more of a setup problem.
1) check your tyre pressures are as the tyre manufacturer recommends (most are 36psi front, 42psi rear)
2) check your sag is set right
3) if you're still not there then start raising rear ride height (assuming you have fitted a ride-height adjustable shock).
4) If you can't do 3 or don't want the bike too tall or you run out of adjustment at the rear, then drop the yokes down the forks a few rings. Do it a bit at a time so that you can see how it reacts and does not become more unstable than you want it to.
5) Shell out for a set of lightweight wheels

Hi Paganman,

Try Gilles rearsets. Greg D has some on his and it is completley different to my falco with standard pegs. Far far more comfortable. I'm 6ft 7ins so know what being cramped is like and the Gilles stuff transforms it. I was going to get some but bought a new bike with some on! :smt002

Give Greg a shout, I'm sure he'll be happy to chat.

Bigun.

I have Gilles and to be honest they have been nothing but a pain in the arse, eventually causing my rear brake to sieze, destroying all the seals, tha pads and the disk.

Griff over on the ClubAprilia makes some mega sexy ones, Aprilia Performanace is the brand, £200 a REAL bargain for what they are!

Raise the rear and lower the front if your looking for a more nimble ride (flickable) the trade off is less stability on the faster bumpier stuff of course.

I went for a height adjustable Ohlins (set on max height) lowered the forks and fitted the RSV steering damper

Worked fine for me and I've now done the same on the Tuono
