Hi all,

Anyone know where I can buy some threaded hollow bar to extend some short led winkers please? Want to go through the holes where our rear grab handle goes :smt002

Cheers.

in actual fact you can find some indicators that will screw straight in to where those holes are - I know mine do and i think nooj has something similar

i think mine are either motrax or demon tweeks....

My BikeIt ones do, but I had to put an M10 Helicoil into the hole first.

yep - sounds about right, along with a nice spring washer to make sure it faces the right way

OK, so where do we buy M10 helicoils? What do they look like anywayz :smt017 Will they just thread in or any special fitment apart from the usual spring washers...

cheers.

Take the bike to a decent workshop of engineer

Give him a fiver

Not sure a fiver will cover the cost of a pair of Helicoil inserts, better make it a tenner at least. I bought an M10x1.5 Recoil kit including ten inserts, the insertion tool and the appropriate tap which was about 30 quid, cheaper than the 'real' helicoil stuff but just as good.

That's a useful size to have as it also does stuff like brake caliper mounts, bar mounted mirrors and engine bolts.

I am lucky - most of my engineering friends rely on me for their computers - as in, i wipe their porn forays before their wives find out :)

oh - i do believe that the alloy is soft enough you can just use a die tap what ever that is....

.... it's a strange mixture of terms for 2 different thread-cutting tools.

A Tap cuts internal threads within a hole (eg the thread on a nut) whereas a Die cuts external threads on a rod (eg the thread on a bolt or a stud).

Hein Gericke do extenders in different finishes and thread sizes. I can't find them on their website but they are in the catalogue.

Hi all,

Just an up-date on my fitment for the gixer front mirrors. A dremellled mould has been despatched back to the manufacturer for a new mk II to be produced :smt002 These can be made in any colour, apart from metallic, flakes in the mould would settle no good :smt012

Let you all know when it is in final throws of production ok :smt003
